Night Sky Photography - 10-15-2016 - Full Hunter's Moon

Tonight I got a great photograph of the Northern Hemisphere's full Hunter's Moon through the tree in my front yard.

The Hunter's Moon is the first of three supermoons -- full moons near perigee, or Luna's closest point to Earth for the month. November and December will also have full supermoons also.

The November 14, 2016 full moon -- closest and largest full moon in 2016 -- will also be the largest full moon to date in the 21st century. It will be the closest encounter between the Earth and Luna until November 25, 2034! Click HERE to read more about the November 14th supermoon.
