Good evening fellow stargazers!
Late on Sunday evening (November 9th), I was able to capture some beautiful shots of the Waning Gibbous Moon with the giant planet, Jupiter, in the eastern sky through the gathering clouds. In the close-up shot of Jupiter, I was able to capture all four of the Galilean Moon: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.
Jupiter appears as a very bright blue-white star in the night sky, although at present its only about 437.25 million miles from our Earth. Its also the only other planet in our solar system where you can see its moons -- with the aid of a telescope, or really good pair of binoculars.
