As summer her in South Carolina is about to give way to the autumn, the Mourning Doves (Zenaida macroura) came out in droves to fill up from my backyard bird feeders all throughout the beginning of September.
Every now and again its just individual Mourning Doves, most of whom don't mind sharing the feeder with the occasional Cardinal, or smaller Sparrow, or Chickadee. Other times they come in pairs, or in whole flocks or families, that completely take over the feeders and claim all the best seeds for themselves.
The follow photos were taken by yours truly between the last week of August till the 20th of September of this year.
I will have more backyard bird photos for y'all coming up soon.
