Definition: An irrational prejudice against, hatred towards, or fear of the American Southland, its
history, culture, symbols, language, music, literature, and people,
especially as a political force. It is often used more specifically to
describe the extreme or irrational fear of those who demand censorship
of inanimate objects such as apparel, flags, memorials, statues, and
cemeteries displaying iconography of the former Confederate States of
America and the soldiers who fought to defend Southern independence.
