Early on Tuesday morning this week, I was able to get two good shots of the Waning Crescent Moon with the bright Venus and dim Mars about 40 minutes before sunrise.
The first shot captured all three celestial bodies as they appeared in the eastern sky. Mars is very faint because it is moving away from opposition to the Earth in its planetary rotation and is now much farther away than it had been earlier in the year. My second shot is a closeup of Mars and Luna together. You can almost make out the reddish coppery color of Mars.
Once again I hope y'all enjoyed my planetary photographs and as always, keep your eyes to the skies, y'all. Have a wonderful Dixie Day now, ya hear?
