Well....okay, maybe not so much the immortality thing. Still there was a beautiful planetary conjunction tonight.
It was overcast from a summer shower earlier in the afternoon and for awhile there I was concerned that yet another outstanding astronomical event would take place and I would miss getting a photo of it. Fortunately the sky cleared briefly, long enough for me to get these outstanding shots of the planetary conjunction between Venus and Jupiter.
Both planets are approximately one half of a degree apart in the western sky, that's less distance than the width of the moon.
