Hello y'all!
To close out the month of September, I present for y'all the latest visitors to my backyard bird feeders.
Over the last week of September, these female Northern Cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis) have been enjoying the birdseed and suet I put out. Unlike the bright red and black male Cardinals, the females are a tan brown and black with bright orange beaks and tail feathers.
At least three different female Northern Cardinals have been returning to my feeders -- usually after those greedy Mourning Doves and gotten all the good stuff. They seem to really enjoy the sunflower seeds most of all.
The following are the beautiful female Cardinals that I've managed to capture from my kitchen window.

Last Backyard Birds Of Summer 2025
These are the last of the North American bird photos taken at my backyard bird feeders for the late summer season in the month of September.
These beautiful feathered beauties include: a lovely Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum), the Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor), a female Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis), male and female American Goldfinches (Spinus tristis), and a Carolina Chickadee (Poecile carolinensis).
